Battle Outside of War

How many years of service does it take to be worthy of proper assistance from the VA? Army First Sergeant, Richard Laboy, served 22 years in the military, but would battle to get care for injuries endured for 25 years total. Now having 100% disability, Laboy receives the proper compensation he fought for, for so long. Medical re-evaluation or routine future exams are put in place by the VA to check in with veterans and see if any improvement takes place within the area of disability. These exams would take place every three to five years and could result in the dropping of percentages based on whether the Veteran had improvement with their medical condition .  Currently only specific medical conditions require this re-evaluation, a change that took place in October 2021. The VA deemed this procedure unnecessary but Laboy could not escape this during his battle.
